Lisette: Quality Improvement in Cancer Care: Risk Stratification and Timely Treatment
Abstract: Risk stratification can be leveraged to reduce acute care events for cancer patients, like unplanned hospital admissions and emergency department visits. The PROACCT is a risk score based on chemotherapy regimens. Using patient level data along with PROACCT can help providers link the right resource to patients at the right time to reduce acute care utilization. Delays in treatment initiation for cancer patients is associated with worse patient outcomes. Measuring timely treatment can help us identify and prevent delays in care.
