The 21st annual NIEHS Biomedical Career Symposium will feature keynote speaker Timothy Lightfoot, Ph.D., Omar Smith Endowed Professor of Kinesiology and the Director of the Sydney and JL Huffines Institute for Sports Medicine and Human Performance at Texas A&M University, who will be speaking about “Taking Control of Your Career: Ways to Get To and Prosper in Your Professional Life.”
This year’s symposium highlights new workshops and panels for both academic and industry career paths, including topics on leadership, tactics for asking what you need to succeed, developing a plan to successfully obtain tenure, learning about how to approach a job interview from industry insiders, and discussions about careers in science policy.
On-site, participants will have the opportunity to sign up for one-on-one CV/resume/LinkedIn Profile & career consultations with professionals from academia, industry, & government. Networking opportunities will be available throughout the day, with the chance to meet one-on-one with company HR representatives.
