The Durham VA Health Care System provides health care services to veterans in central and eastern North Carolina. The CSPEC-Durham is one of several Epidemiology Centers established by the Cooperative Studies Program (CSP) that serve as national resources for epidemiologic research and training for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The primary mission of all CSPECs is to design and conduct state-of-the-art population research on health and disease to enhance our understanding of their determinants, treatments, and outcomes in order to improve the health, well-being, and care of Veterans and all Americans.
