Data Quality in Online Surveys: Design and Diagnostics

March 3, 2021 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am

This course will be offered via Zoom only.

Online surveys now represent a large segment of the research on public attitudes and behaviors. There is widespread recognition that online surveys can be plagued by data quality issues, but there is considerable variation in the specific metrics of relevance depending on the particular online design. In this workshop we will cover metrics for evaluating common data quality issues and strategies for maximizing data quality in a variety of online survey designs, including convenience samples, nonprobability samples with quotas, and probability-based online panels.
