Amy: Co-design approaches involving older adults: Development of a patient-centered preference tool for patients with hematologic malignancies
Abstract: This presentation will discuss the research efforts (e.g., systematic review, protocol development, study coordination, and analysis) related to evaluating a preference elicitation tool for patients newly diagnosed with hematologic malignancies. We used a co-design approach to evaluate the perceived usability, cognitive workload (CWL), and performance for both a Discrete Choice Experiment (DCE) and Best-Worse Case Scaling (BWS) prototype.  Insights from previous research efforts regarding BWS and DCE methods, as well as our systematic review (co-design approaches involving older adults in the development of electronic healthcare tools) were incorporated into the study protocol and implemented during usability testing.

Nazim: Providing Operational Performance Improvement with Analytical Consulting at The Permanente Medical Group - Population Health Care
Abstract: Hired as a Senior Consulting Data Analyst to The Permanente Medical Group Consulting Services (TPMG CS) team, Nazim Kazi joined the Population Care division within Kaiser Permanente, which is headquartered in Oakland, California. TPMG CS provides analytic and business consulting solutions to executive and clinical leadership by offering operational performance improvement initiatives, as well as maintenance and monitoring tools for striving for excellence in quality, service, and reputation of Kaiser Permanente. Through this work experience, Nazim was able to learn the ins and outs of a large operation aimed at providing affordable and exceptional care to its members. Furthermore, this experience afforded Nazim the opportunity to learn some new skills, such as SAS and Tableau, and collaborate with senior clinical leadership on projects focused on returning Kaiser to pre-COVID quality levels.
