The Carolina Health Informatics Program is pleased to
announce the approval of its Public Health Informatics Certificate, beginning
Spring semester 2012.  Public Health Informatics focuses on population /
community health, prevention orientation and the role of government agencies
that pay a crucial role in Public Health practice.  The certificate will
prepare graduates for public health informatics roles, such as Public Health
Leader, Health Information Exchange Specialist, and Public Health Systems
Engineer.   Combing the UNC School of Public Health curriculum and
the information curriculum at SILS, the certificate offers an emphasis on
public health information systems, data management, and evidenced-based Public
Health Policy.
