Shilpa Sundar is a PhD student with the Carolina Health Informatics Program (CHIP) at UNC, working in the Translational and Integrative Sciences Lab (TISLab) within the Department of Genetics Medicine. Her research bridges machine learning, predictive modeling, drug repurposing, precision medicine, and rare genetic diseases. Shilpa is a proud returning student who continues her academic journey with CHIP, where she also previously earned her Master of Professional Sciences in Biomedical and Health Informatics.
With a diverse background spanning healthcare consulting, clinical pharmacy, and data science, Shilpa has led impactful projects across commercial analytics, quality improvement, and rare disease innovation. Her expertise lies in leveraging real-world data, claims analysis, and advanced visualization tools to generate actionable insights for the life sciences industry.
