Biography

My research focuses on understanding the explanatory models of patients, caregivers, and clinicians, and bringing their perspectives into the development and implementation of digital health tools to empower them to make informed healthcare decisions. I have been training under Dr. Lukasz Mazur and Dr. Daniel Richardson since January 2021. During this time, I have designed and led several mixed-methods studies that engaged older patients, caregivers, healthcare workers, and healthy volunteers to evaluate digital health tools and medical devices. Currently, I co-chair the AAMC Research Technology Working Group and am a member of the MDIC Patient-Centered Digital Health Technologies Working Group, furthering my commitment to improving stakeholder engagement through technology. My goal is to make contributions to the fields of medical informatics and patient centered care. I also hold a full-time position as a Project Manager within UNC School of Medicine IT. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, reading, and spending time with my family.
