CHIP uses mailing lists and Internet forums for its students, faculty, alumni and groups with an interest in CHIP to support engagement in group discussions and enable the widespread distribution of information such as news, events, internships and job opportunities. See our Chipmail presentation for more details. Note that Tier 2 or Tier 3 sensitive data should not be stored or processed using CHIP mailing lists. The UNC Information Classification Standard has more details on what constitutes sensitive data.
Chipmail is powered by Discourse. Discourse includes many of the latest Internet forum and discussion group features. If you are new to Discourse take a look at the Chipmail Quick Start Introduction to get a new user quick start introduction to using Chipmail. The Discourse New User Guide provides more details for new users and Sitepoint has a great Discourse cheat sheet. The mobile app for Discourse is DiscourseHub which is available on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. General help for Discourse is available at the official discussion site for Discourse meta.discourse.org which is also powered by Discourse.
Please find the list of available mailing lists below. For more information on using the mailing lists, visit https://chipmail.unc.edu/faq.
