CHIP PhD Student Ashley Griffin Awarded NC TraCS Pilot Grant

Ashley Griffin

CHIP PhD student Ashley Griffin, MSPH was recently awarded a NC TraCS Pilot Grant on her research topic: A Conversational Agent to Support Hypertension Medication Self-Management.

Project Description:

Self-management of hypertension-related behaviors, such as diet, exercise, and medications, is challenging and requires adequate knowledge, skills, and motivation. While many factors are associated with uncontrolled hypertension, one of the leading contributors is poor medication self-management. This project seeks to understand how a chatbot can assist patients with managing their blood pressure and to assess patient perspectives of using a chatbot to support hypertension medication self-management.
