Wu Joins CHIP as New Core Faculty

CHIP is excited to welcome Dr. Danny Wu as a new core faculty member to the program! Dr. Wu joined the UNC School of Information and Library Science as an Associate Professor this month. His research draws on human-computer interaction, data mining, information retrieval, natural language processing, and visual analytics to maximize the value of clinical data stored in electronic health records and further improve quality of care. Dr. Wu transitioned from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, where he was an Associate Professor of Research and Director of Informatics Experiences, Medical Sciences Baccalaureate Program. Wu received both his PhD and master’s degree from the University of Michigan School of Information.

Dr. Wu is teaching database systems in healthcare for the CHIP program for Spring 2025 semester. He is also actively involved in the CHIP Faculty Curriculum Committee and already contributing significant expertise to the enhancement of CHIP coursework.
