Brian Moynihan and Dr. Carlton Moore have been working on the Carolina Digital Health Research Initiative (CaDHRI), and have secured funding from the School of Medicine’s Center for Innovation to buy devices for SOM researchers looking to do research in digital health. This funding might be used to buy activity trackers, wireless scales, air monitors, vitals sensors, and other equipment to support mHealth research study.  They are offering consultations for researchers who would like to do digital health research but could use some help, and are willing to bring together experts in devices, software, security, and research methods, depending on the need of the particular research studies of interest.

They are also looking to engage researchers, students, and faculty through a series of events related to digital health. This year there will be five workshops on digital health research, focusing on methods, devices, and data. They will also host a seminar series featuring speakers who will talk about issues related to digital health such as FHIR, the learning health system, etc.
